Half the night, we were cosplaying and I’ve never laughed so hard. Imagine Dark Helmet yelling “Ludicrous speed” while you’re riding the tram to get into the park. And, you’re not in the park yet. I was totally blown away how Cate made Dot Matrix from home improvement parts, and her brother, Joe, made the Dark Helmet.

The Chestburster was a simple costume that really didn’t require that much effort. The green shirt had a hole and inside was elastic straps that held the alien in place. I wanted to add fake blood around the hole, but the magical place on earth needed things to be family friendly. The Alien was purchased off of Amazon years ago. I made a hat, shoes, and cane for him. The best part was I added the song “Hello, My Baby” to a Build a Bear recorder and inserted it into the plush. Every time you pressed the chest, the song came on, just like in Spaceballs.
