Normally it is warm and humid in Florida, but this night was unusually cold. The perfect night to be wearing fur, multi-layers, and pleather. Nightcrawler’s jacket was made from sequin evening gown fabric, the pants are from a vintage Vogue pattern, the vest from re-purposed pleather scraps, and the blue tail from marine vinyl.
Beast blue fur fabric came from Joann’s. I made a long sleeve shirt based off Aid’s tee shirt. The jacket is pleather fabric, with yellow marine vinyl accents. Basically, I used his tee shirt as a baseline as a pattern again, and added in the curved strips. This was the first time I had no idea how I was going to make a costume, and it ended up coming together. The trick is not to overthink the steps, and just be in the moment.
